v1.0 launch
Towards the end of last year, we tested ZapStack with a small group of pilot companies. Every one of them found waste they didn’t know about.
Seeing the engine automatically flag unused and incorrectly configured resources across dozens of AWS accounts was a proper buzz. That used to be a manual slog.
So we shifted focus to the harder part - how to fit it into a workflow engineers would actually use. Over Christmas, I rebuilt the web app in Figma while Alex expanded the number of services we supported and firmed things up on the backend.
Fast forward a few weeks and v1.0 is here, open to everyone. No more demos or manual onboarding - anyone can sign up and see what ZapStack can save them.
What you’ll find in v1.0
ZapStack is a simple workflow designed to fit into how engineering teams already operate:
- ZapStack scans your AWS environment and surfaces cost optimization recommendations automatically.
- New recommendations land on your Issues page, where you can review and triage them just like any bug tracker.
- Pick the ones that are right for your team and pull them into a backlog to work through at your own pace.
You can’t cut what you can’t see - ZapStack makes the waste visible, so no more excuses!
Under the hood
We’ve also done a lot of work under the hood:
- 2x the number of AWS services we scan
- AWS Organization-level connections - before you could only connect individual accounts, which was laborious if you had a lot of them.
- More robust scanning - fewer edge-case failures, better coverage across real-world setups.
Try it out
